“The teacher who is indeed wise does not bid you to enter the house of his wisdom but rather leads you to the threshold of your mind.”

Khalil Gibran was a writer, poet, and artist. He wrote, drew and painted about the inner world of human beings and their relationship to God and other-worldly beings. His writings and art seem to float in the realm of dreams and epiphanies, evoking deep awareness about life and its meaning.

His book, “The Prophet”, published in 1923, has been widely read and appreciated by people of many cultures. Some people compare Gibran to 18th century writer-poet-artist, William Blake, who also wrote and painted about his spiritual insights and visions. Gibran was born in Lebanon in 1883. His family moved to the United States when he was a young man. He died in New York in 1931.
